The Netherlands smartest coastal area is Scheveningen. The lampposts are set to prove that! Lampposts are capable of much more than providing street-lighting. If they are also equipped with movement and sound sensors, WIFI, cameras and/or charging points for electric vehicles, the number of street objects can be significantly reduced. This enables the smart use of space. Together with Eneco, Eurofiber and PwC, we will facilitate a smart city infrastructure based on smart city hubs. These hubs offer the opportunity to market parties to deliver all sorts of applications, starting with public lighting.

Living Lab Scheveningen is linked to the De Kust Gezond programme, a programme which reinstate public space of Scheveningen. Whenever a new subproject is designed, efforts are made to combine this with new technology or smart solutions.

By developing the Living Labs environment, The Hague, Eneco, Eurofiber and PwC are unique partners in the Netherlands with a proven concept in the smart city domain. It is unique because of its open environment, the combination with urban development, business opportunities and the Public Private Partnership.
