2getthere realizes green Automated Transit Systems for Smart Cities.
2getthere realizes sustainable automated transit systems for Smart Cities, ranging from Automated People Movers to Shared Autonomous Vehicles. The systems are based on over 30 years of experience with automated vehicles in different demanding environments. They can be installed to serve as a feeder to existing transit networks, serve a corridor or a local area. Smart cities benefit from the reduction of car traffic, congestion and the environmentally friendly character, while developers maximize land value and reduce space wasted for non-value added activities by optimizing land usage.
2getthere’s first APM system was developed in 1995. Pilot projects were realized at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (1997) and business park Rivium (1999). The extended Rivium system was equipped with 2nd generation GRT vehicles in 2006, and is still operational today. In 2002 the temporary Floriade application was realized, featuring 4-passenger vehicles. The first permanent PRT system, at Masdar City (Abu Dhabi) opened to the general public on November 28th 2010. To date, 2getthere has safely transported more than 10 million passengers. Currently, 2getthere is realizing a system in Dubai, connecting a metro station to Bluewaters Island. This system will transport between 3750 and 5000 Passengers Per Hour Per Direction (PPHD). The existing Rivium application will be transformed in the world’s first autonomous system operating on public roads without a safety driver or steward on board.
