Townhall meetings: Smart City challenges on board the Clipper Stad Amsterdam in Miami, Baltimore, New York and Boston

In March en April 2019, Clipper Stad Amsterdam will visit Miami, Baltimore, New York and Boston. During this journey, the Clipper will become the stage for so-called “Townhall meetings”, where we ask these US cities to confront Dutch companies with their Smart City challenges in Healthy Urban Living, Circular Economy, Urban Mobility and Resilience. The goal will be to present Dutch solutions to the specific challenges the US cities face.

This workshop will kick start the discussion, and aims to identify the opportunities in these cities. This way we can ensure the Townhall meetings can be approached with a focused request for city challenges. You will be briefed on the characteristics of the four cities. Ultimately, this workshop and the Clipper Townhall meetings will maximise the effectiveness of the innovation mission to the NYSC expo in May 2019. This is also why the organization of the NYSC expo will co-host the workshop.

Facilitators:

  • Gianluca Galletto – Advisor/Consultant at mayor’s office for International Affairs, City of New York, principal SCNY
  • Peter de Kruijk – director Amsterdam Trade
