Pitch Line: Data-driven approach to tackle challenges
Den Bosch – officially and historically ‘s-Hertogenbosch – is the capital city of the Dutch province of Brabant, named by the EU as one of the most important innovation strongholds of Europe. Den Bosch is regarded as the Data Capital of the Netherlands, especially since the founding of JADS, the first university completely dedicated to Data Science in the country. The city is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and cultural life, stated in 2018 by the European Commission’s JRC as one of the best in Europe. Den Bosch is home to SAP Netherlands, because of its strong ICT cluster (830 companies and 7,000 jobs), and to one of Heineken’s largest breweries worldwide, due to its high quality water supply. This year the city hosts the European Region of Gastronomy, combining its culinary culture with its innovative agrifood cluster, expressed in the strong regional partnership Agrifood Capital and EIT’s PlantLab facility.
