Pitch Line We help creating Smart Cities by developing innovation ecosystems and underlying projects in which new technological innovations (mostly IoT) are tested and further co-developed in an open innovation and multipartner approach.
We believe in open innovation and the combination of forces and knowledge in order to deal with great societal and technical challenges. An example of a specific project currently taking place, is the project ‘Smart City watermanagement’ where a self-learning Real Time Control is being developed. This project is part of Smart Industry Fieldlab CAMINO in the municipality of Almelo which is established in collaboration with World Class Maintenance and 6 parties: Gemeente Almelo, Waterschap Vechtstromen, Benchmark Electronics, Inter Act Industrial Automation, Neelen & Schuurmans, Deltares. Machine learning techniques and algorithms are developed in order to optimize (1) waterstreams, (2) use of energy and (3) maintenance activities.
Within the fieldlab CAMINO (projectlead: Ruben Ogink) also an IoT-based Smart sewery condition inspection tool (Smart SCIT) is developed. Trains and rail-infrastructure are made smart and smart monitoring application is real time tested on water-locks for ships, dams and bridges.
