Theme: Urban mobility, smart city as a whole and data
Pitch Line Breda is working on its transition from a traditional analog city into a digital city. The programme “Digitalisation” is under construction and meanwhile, various pilots are being executed, mainly based on economic and mobility challenges. The next period is dominated by describing the mid- and long term expectations of this programme. from an insight that the world is changing and we are adapting to this.
Breda, over 765 years of history. We have a vibrant and miscellaneous trade and industry and we offer the highest standard in education for years in a row. Our universities of applied science, have come out on top for many years. Our central situation, right between Antwerp and Rotterdam, makes us an excellent central spot for companies to establish. Every year we welcome millions of visitors to our city. Breda brings it together, as our slogan sounds.
Breda is working on the transition into a smart city and we are working on a programme digitalization. We have chosen to enhance the city centre and are developing various smart projects within this area. On the other hand we want to improve the accessibility of the city. For this purpose we are working in several living labs together with trade and industry and the educational institutions. Finally we are always open to new opportunities and sectors. We accomodate a large number of smart city related companies as SPIE (46000 coworkers and Dutch headquarters in Breda), CM Breda, and a lot of SMEs. Numerous digital projects have been set up in living labs, but the all-over challenge is how to get useful information from the combination of this data.
